Excuse me if I sound like a teenage girl, but…OH EM GEE the new iPhone4 is coming out!!! Just in time too, as my AT&T contract expires pretty soon. I am a self admitted tech junkie so when I saw the new and improved additions to the iphone, I screamed like 12 year girl at a Justin Bieber concert. Here are some key new additions and improvements that I will be enjoying on June 24th when it comes out (June 15th starts pre-orders).
P.S. I want to give credit and thanks to Engadget’s Joshua Topolsky for his awesome coverage and photos. Click HERE to view the full live blog.
Steve Job’s goes over 8 main features throughout his keynote plus a bonus surprise….so 9 in total.
1. The Design

The phone is thinner! APPLE apparently got inspired by (The Biggest Loser) and decided to make the iPhone thinner. It’s 24 % thinner to be exact. It’s the thinnest smartphone ever. It also consists of stainless steel for strength and glass for optical quality and scratch resistance. I liked how they used the stainless steel as integrated antennas.
2. Retina Display (hence the rumored iPhone HD)

The display screen is even clearer. The new iphone now has four times as many pixels than before at 326 pixels per inch. Now I can view iJustine do more spoofs of Kesha even clearer.
3. Powered by A4 Chip

The biggest component within the iPhone 4 is the battery. We all know we could use a bigger battery, especially for game play. It provides 7hrs of 3G talk, 6hrs of 3G browsing, 10hrs of video, and 40hrs of music.
4. Added Gyroscope
A 3 axis gyroscope tied in with the accelerometer and compass to provide six axis, perfect for gaming!
5. New Face Camera & HD Video

A new camera system that improved from 3-5 megapixels that records in HD video! In addition it also has a backside illuminated sensor, built in video editing and the capability to video chat in real time in! The most exciting part was watching them run iMovie within iPhone!
6. iOS 4 (formally OS 4)
A feature that we’ve seen before is it’s new operating system, with a name change. The iPhone has now caught up and surpassed other phones in that you can multi-task without killing your battery, unlike other phones. It provides folders for organizing apps, retina display integration, Mail (unified mail boxes), and enhanced camera and photo apps.
7. iBooks
You can now purchase and download a book wirelessly. You can download the same book to all your devices at no extra charge. Buy it on your iPad, download to your iPhone. iBooks will automatically and wirelessly sync your current place, all your bookmarks, and all your notes.
8. iAds
Apple is trying to help developers earn money through iAds. iAds creates emotion and interactivity with the user. The ads are built right into the app, saves on stalling game play, and Apple will sell/host the ads.
BONUS: FaceTime (Video Chating)

Perhaps one of the most anticipated and thrilling features is FaceTime. FaceTime allows two iPhone 4 users to live video chat over a WiFi connection (which I’m sure will be fixed in later months). Using full use of the iPhone’s new face camera, it provides a portrait/landscape video call with you and a friend, family member, or total stranger. This can take sexting to a whole other level lol.
The iPhone 4 will be available in two colors. White and black. Pricing $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB.” (with contract upgrade) AT&T is going to make a generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires at any time in 2010, you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. You can get it up to six months early.
So needless to say I am excited about it coming out. Please comment below on your thoughts of the new iPhone 4 and be sure to the back here on June 24th for my next write up when I actually have the new iPhone in my hand!
